We believe that with Christ anyone's future can be greater than their past. By discipling the incarcerated and assisting returning citizens with re-entry services we are transforming lives and communities.
Jennifer's dream upon being released was to have the opportunity to earn a living wage doing horticulture, a passion she had developed while incarcerated.

We launched a transformational project last night!
Over the next several weeks, several men and women who have transitioned successfully from incarceration will be capturing photos and sharing their thoughts in a journal. Then, this content will be compiled into a book full of hope and living proof of what God can do in the lives of those who embrace Him as Lord and when God's people step up to help others.
A copy of the book will be given to every man and woman in the South Carolina Department of Corrections for Christmas this year! Can you imagine how powerful it will be for the incarcerated to see the success stories of people who used to be incarcerated with them?
Currently, only the South Carolina Baptist Convention has pledged funding to help print the books, so there is room for additional project sponsorship. Let us know if you are interested.

"I am excited to work with JUMPSTART because of the opportunity it provides to be a part of a life-changing ministry. From reading the collection of testimonies written in Comeback Stories, attending the recent graduation of multiple individuals from JUMPSTART’s program, and witnessing how God has worked individually through those in the ministry’s various leadership roles, I firmly believe that God has much greater things in store for JUMPSTART, and am honored to be a vessel for the Lord in this way.
I have been blessed to experience the fullness of God’s grace in many ways, but most prominently in my adoption. God blessed me with a Christ-centered family who puts Him first in everything, and they have been the greatest joy in my life.
This grace continues into the relationship that I formed with Cary and Ashley Sanders. I met Cary and Ashley years ago when Cary served as the youth minister position at my church. He and Ashley are beautiful examples of Christ’s love and companionship. Where they have been mentors for me amongst life’s bigger questions, they have also been friends. Through my knowing them, I learned about JUMPSTART. Cary’s special tie to the ministry and personal testimony made JUMPSTART’s work real to me, and I realized the capabilities of God’s transforming power. With God’s redemptive grace and people who dedicate their lives to serving others for His glory, change is possible.
The recidivism rate in South Carolina is one of the lowest in the country. This is immensely in part to ministries like JUMPSTART who believe that Jesus can change the lives of those who are ready to leave their past behind in return for a better future. With the correct resources and support, these individuals become productive members of our community. Their testimonies empower others, and the gospel is shared through the story God has written for their life." ... See MoreSee Less
